Note of Gratitude to Our Volunteers

As a community, as a society, we wouldn’t be where we are, without all the volunteers who selflessly donate their time for the common good.

This time of the year is when we usually celebrate our volunteers and all their efforts. This year being different, we present a small photo story featuring our volunteers and their contributions.

To start with, we thank all the volunteers and members of “Flavours from Our Neighbours” – St. James Town Catering Collective. The catering collective has been cooking meals for residents who cannot cook since emergency was announced on March 17th. The meal program continues to this day providing delicious and nutritious meals to some of our most vulnerable residents.

The New Common has been one of our most supportive partners. Their volunteers have been supporting the meal program with home deliveries for residents who cannot come out of their homes. They are also quite often the only human interaction some of these residents will have during the whole day. Cheers to you all!

A big thank you to all the countless volunteers who helped us manage and deliver grocery hampers to our residents. Volunteers from the neighbourhood, Toronto Volunteers, New Common, 77 Howard Crew were part of the efforts.

To our resident volunteers and volunteers from The New Common for their support with our outreach activities. From making sure residents stay updated with the latest information on services and programs to putting up posters in the neighbourhood to spread awareness. Thank you for being brave and selfless.

To all the residents fixers at The Corner @240 for fixing all those broken items for us. Your service is so important in enabling residents to stay home and practice social distancing.

From fixing home appliances to computers, bikes, clothes, furniture, thank you for making our lives more comfortable and convenient. You are our neighbourhoods true Eco amabassadors!

Appreciating our youth Volunteers. Thank you for all your energy and enthusiasm. It is amazing to know that St. James Town has young and strong shoulders to lean on! Thanks to Peace builders Canada for their community clean-up initiative.

To other volunteers to contribute whenever we require their support. For making The Corner a truly organic community hub. Your contributions and efforts are what keeps this community going. A big Thank you to all of you!
