The St. James Town Community has been hit hard by the current pandemic. Residents, families and service providers are grappling with ever evolving information about how best to keep ourselves safe. The Corner has been a constant in providing the most up to date information and in keeping lines of communication open with residents and partners.
Over the past few months, The Corner has provided over-the-phone consultations and individual support. Some services have continued online through Zoom and face-to-face on a limited basis. Food support through meals and grocery delivery have been a staple. However, due to safety precautions, The Corner has not been able to run its services to previous capacity.
Starting in September, The Corner will expand its in-person programming to include settlement, music, French conversation, counselling and Friendly Visitors programs. ALL programs are by appointment only. Unfortunately, there are no walk-in services at this time. In addition, everyday between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm, The Corner offers 1-on-1 services to people who cannot wear a mask (by appointment only).
To find out about programming at The Corner follow us on Facebook. Twitter, Instagram and our website, www.stjamestown.org.
The Corner wishes to reassure the community that we follow all Public Health Safety Guidelines related to the pandemic regarding physical distancing, masking, handwashing and cleaning protocols.
