On Wednesday, June 24th, 2020, St. James Town Pathways held a career education event on the subject of technology over Zoom. Chris O’Neill, technology investor and executive, former head of Google Canada and CEO of Evernote, former board member of Tim Horton’s and current board member of The Gap, spoke to St James Town residents. Chris led the discussion about how to approach technology at any age, and some of his most important tips for success. Participants also had the opportunity to ask Chris questions. The discussion got everyone thinking about their personal goals and the ways in which they can start working towards them. Ultimately, St James Town Pathways is a program created to guide youth and young adults in achieving their dream careers through post-secondary education and beyond. In addition, this future-oriented program gives access to adult role models who are engaged in a variety of entrepreneurial endeavors for direct advice on specific career paths. The broader goal of the SJT Pathways program is to bridge the gap between the St. James Town community and the nearby communities in Toronto.
